July 4 a grand opening ceremony of the European Union Centre in Siberia was held at the conference room of the Scientific Library of Tomsk State University. The opening ceremony was attended by the Vice-Rector of TSU, Mikhail D. Babansky, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Russia Michael Webb, representatives of Tomsk Region Administration, the City of Tomsk, university professors and students from Siberia.
EU Centre in Siberia (EUCES) announces the Summer School on European Studies to be held in Tomsk on July 3-8, 2011 — "European Union after the Lisbon Treaty: Problems and Prospects".
On May 10, 2011 in the TSU conference room EU Centre in Siberia held a presentation for university students and alumni on the opportunities for Russian students who wish to study at European universities: scholarships and application procedure.
Yulia V. Elokhina defended her dissertation for the Candidate of History degree (PhD equivalent) on April 15, 2011. The topic was “The Place of United Kingdom in the European Integration Process: Second Half of the XX Century – Early XXI Century”. Julia majored in “World history” (major code 07.00.03). Her defense took place at the Irkutsk State University (Dissertation Council D 212.074.05).
Sergey M. Yun, Coordinator Master Degree Programs in International Relations, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs at the Department of History, TSU took part in the seminar “Diplomas and Degrees Comparability. Double/Multiple Diploma and Degrees” that was held at the Moscow State University for Transport Engineering on April 11-12, 2011 and was organized within the framework of the European Union Tempus programme.
