The monograph tackles the interaction of European integration, domestic politics and political system transformations in EU member states. It focuses on the case of Italy during the period of 1994-2006. The book starts with the historyography of Italy's participation in the European integration process. The author analyzes the way Italian political parties build their positions towards EU. Particular emphasis is given to the process of parties' European discourse formation and the influence of such factors as the Italian public opinion, the country's political system evolution and the "personal" history and development logic of every single party.
